Literature Text
You walk into the
house turning on
the lights. You say
that you've been
afraid of the dark
for the last million
nights. And...
I hover like powder
blue mist,
behind the opening
of an electric outlet.
The amperage in my
blood is surging,
like the waves of the
sea. I am waiting for
some prongs to suck
my strength out of
me.
Your eyes are glossy,
tho they shine,
white like snow.
and they drip,
like drops of honey.
Tell me why this
is so...
Step before the mirror,
look at your skin.
Your complexion is made
up of every nationality.
Now look through your eyes
all thoughts in your mind,
how they are worldwide.
Just imagine your dreams,
about world conditions,
more accurate than the news.
Your calling for peace,
saying "Come!"
Your gathering everyone.
Without you even
knowing.
I've rushed out the outlet,
into the cord,
up into your bulb
to help brighten your house
from the top of your lamp.
I've saw your tears regarding
the world that you're living in.
I know, that, there's a desperate
need for peace.
I've looked into your eyes, and
I've saw these things.
May these rays of light that I
protect you with,
be as colorful as honey and
bring you tranquility.
I understand why you suffer
and your reasons for enduring.

So in the beginning(ish) there was Eve....
Back in 1993, TIME Magazine came out with a Special Issue featuring the ironically named “Eve”-- a computer generated image of a woman who was presented as the “New Face of America.” The caption on the front cover read: “Take a good look at this woman. She was created by a computer from a mix of several races. What you see is a remarkable preview of" ..... dundunDUN“The New Face of America: How Immigrants are Shaping the World’s First Multicultural Society.”

Your poem is so profound...
"...
Your calling for peace,
saying "Come!"
Your gathering everyone.
Without you even
knowing.
…"
And the last sentences are heartbreaking
"...
May these rays of light that I
protect you with,
be as colorful as honey and
bring you tranquility.
I understand why you suffer
and your reasons for enduring."
