Tarzan, In The Lost City Of Zinji

A city called Zinji was lost in thee Congo. Only thee trees know, like the jungles of Pandora. It was a diamond mine, a gift from Solomon to the Egyptians long ago...

I am Tarzan! My skin was tanned and my brown hair grew long like dreadlocks. I was strong and muscular from my biceps to my shoulders. I was shirtless and barefooted. I was a man living among gorillas.

As i swung from vine to vine and tree to tree through a forest of green leaves, i saw Mighty Joe Young and King Kong and grey gorillas lurking underneath the scene with their troops. They were migrating in circles.

The grey gorillas over threw the city of Zinji. They are short, gnarly, dirty and strong and mean like a fighting machine.

Their faces are cut and stained with blood, their teeth is marred and wet with germs.

The Egyptians looked for a way to make them vicious. They're the reason why their diamonds were never discovered.

As i sat on a tree, like a monkey, looking down on a safari. I saw Jane.

Her tanned skin sparkled like brown sugar under the sun and her long dark hair was straight and brown like hot coco. She sat on a pillow fluffy like a marshmallow as men carried her upon elephants through the Congo.
 
My eyes started watering, my sight was shimmering, the forest became animated, reality was quickly changing.

Meanwhile a erupting volcano was bleeding streams of fire from its fountain, and then down its mountain. It was just a matter of time until it reached the low lands.

I dropped lower in order to look closer.

The safari came across Mighty Joe Young as he stood behind the forest. In an attempt to protect his family, he sprung up, towering over the safari, with his back to the west and the sunset in his eyes. The people were terrified.

They couldn't turn and run, they had to look away, to be safe and wait for Mighty Joe Young to move. For that was the only way!  

I couldn't understand the reason why they would risk their life. Diamonds were nothing more than rocks in my eyes.

The safari was a scene away from that lost city of Zinji. They made their way, step by step.  

They could see the Egyptian sculpture. A face with two open eyes filled with orange. The further they walked the closer they got to this dead city of skeletons and of fossils.

As they drew near Jane climbed off of her elephant, took one look, then said with caesura,

"What... is this place?"

"Ah, i believe it is a city, uninhabited i suppose," her father, Professor Archimedes said with his child like tone.

"Dark clouds bring this night upon us and we stand here doing nothing," said Clayton, their leader, to Jane's father. "I speak up and you raise your voice. Now if i step forward i dare you to step before me!"

Clayton and his men departed from Jane and her father and went to enter the city of Zinji.  
       
Jane stood in front of the steps of the city. Looking on as Clayton walked on. She ran her  fingers through her hair, she took in a deep breath and then sighed.

They were stranded without Clayton and his men. The jungle seemed like a maze, even an abyss.

Archimedes climbed off his elephant and then walked to Jane, and then said, "Let's stick close my dear," the cracks in his voice made him sound to giddy for her comfort.  

I moved higher into the trees to get a sight of what was happening inside of the lost city. CHICK CHICK, BOOM... BOOM. CHICK CHICK.  "Gun shots?" Archimedes wondered, "What could they have encountered?"  

I started making my way into the lost place. Approaching it from up in the trees. The sky was getting dark. It was hard to see the city by its walls and so, i saw by its shadows, but even they would shift in front of the setting sun.

I dropped low within the walls. Step by step, walking on my feet and knuckles and then i heard...

"H-e-y!" CHICK CHICK, BOOM, CHICK CHICK, RoAR! (RoAR!!) ((RoAR!!!)) "Get ou- - -CH" BOOM BOOM, CHICK CHICK, ((((RoAR!!!)))) .    

The echos were everywhere. Though it came from behind the walls, inside one of the chambers.

"Where are they?!"

I knew that voice, it was Archimedes. When i turned around looking, i saw Jane trapped in front of a grey gorilla. The gorilla's are so much stronger and faster than humans are, whether Jane was in the desert or in the jungle, there was no other place. She just stood there and stared and that grey gorilla just stared right back at her.

RoAR! ... It didn't move, it just roared. The grey ape was mimicking the crocodile's in the Nile, trying to anticipate Jane's next movement. You see... there hasn't been any humans in the city in the last 4,000 years, all with the exception of me, of course. Those Egyptians were not exactly afraid of them nor were they exactly, unintelligent.

Between me and them the grey gorillas were confused, they didn't even know what to expect from a modern civilized human.

Jane was sweet and cautious, the only thing she kept up her sleeve was kid-tricks. She didn't mean any harm.

RoAR! ... ((RoAR!!)) He opened his mouth, Jane saw the marred teeth. Jane looked disgusted and even started breathing heavy. She reached into the bag she wore for a banana, the grey gorilla saw it's bright yellow peel and then the ape appeared to wonder. His nostrils flared, his eyes watched.

((RoAR!!!)) He roared, and was beating his chest as he stood, wobbling toward her on two legs, he stopped within 3 ft of her. He proceeded to roar in her face. Their eyes connected, through his... Jane saw his soul, through hers, the grey gorilla saw his reflection. He was a cold, cold monster.

Another stood, strong in posture, behind her but to the left. Jane's eyes were stuck on the one before her, she didn't see the other rushing up her side.

I saw him and went ((RoAR!)) as i sat high upon the top of a pillar. I had both of my eyes on each of the two grey gorillas. I crawled down the pillar with their killing eyes upon me,

(RoAR!!!) ... ... ((RoAR!!!))

I walked up to Jane, on my feet and hands, walking on my knuckles like the mountain gorilla's. Jane stood behind me, and with my back towards her i encircled her with my arms, like a wall i removed her from the sight of at least one of the grey gorilla's.

But the furthest of them kept looking on, seeing that the other has been overawed by me, Tarzan.  

Jane had no idea who i was, to her i just fell into her sight like a monkey from the crown of a tree. But now standing before her between two ravishing beast.

"Okay... Mr. jungle human, how can you save me ... if you can't save yourself?" Jane asked in a crackling exciting voice.  

As the two apes got closer, i brought my arms forward and shoved the one in a flash, Jane screamed in the sight of the other, but then i swooped her into my arms and then fled after we slithered past him.

She shouted out "Wow!" as she looked around my arm in which i carried her, seeing the grey gorillas i left behind us.

"O-h boy," she sighed, "They're coming!" I RoAred as we fled over the steps of the city.

Into the distance i gleamed, King Kong and his troop of smaller gorilla's migrating pass the city of Zenji, so i ran to them, into their midst.

RoAr! his young-lings did as they saw the grey gorilla's coming, but when we looked back to see, there was no longer two... there were dozens.

Hearing his young ones cry, King Kong turned his attention toward them, and his wife who was about half his size. King Kong saw the grey gorilla's on the rise.

((ROAR!!!)) ... (((ROAR))) ... ((((ROAR)))) it's echos blasted through the forest and even into the ears of Mighty Joe young and... his wife. Mighty Joe Young came to his aid and between Mighty Joe Young, King Kong and his wife they pounded ALL the grey gorillas into the dirt under the forest undergrowth.

Jane and I stayed in the midst of their troops untouched.

After the dust cleared we slithered out their midst and i reunited Jane with Archimedes.

"Who is this young fella?" Archimedes asked,
"What can be said about you?" Jane asked as she looked into my eyes.
"Me, Tarzan... you?"
She smiled and said ...    "Jane."  

Archimedes stood in awe as he looked at  me, Tarzan   and his daughter   Jane.
